Mr. Johnson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Gear Energy Ltd and a Professional Engineer with close to 20 years of industry experience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Mr. Johnson has been instrumental in resource opportunity identification and exploitation in past roles, executing play entry strategies to build significant company value. Most recently, Mr. Johnson served as the Vice-President, Engineering of Artis Exploration Ltd. a private equity backed oil and gas company with assets focused in the East Basin of the Duvernay light oil resource play. Prior to Artis, Mr. Johnson served in progressively more senior positions with a variety of companies including Vermilion Energy Inc., Kereco Energy Ltd. and Ketch Resources Ltd. Mr. Johnson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Oil and Gas Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
Mr. Hwang is the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Gear Energy Ltd. Mr. Hwang has 27 years of industry experience. He was previously Controller at ARC Resources and had been at ARC since 2004, holding positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of accounting, finance and tax. Prior to ARC, Mr. Hwang was at EnCana in the International Division and at Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Hwang is a Chartered Accountant, graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Mr. Kaluski is the Vice President, Operations of Gear Energy Ltd. Mr. Kaluski was most recently the Manager of Operations for Questerre Energy Corporation where he helped develop corporate strategies and ensured that company operations were performed in a cost effective, safe and efficient manner. He has over 27 years of diversified industry experience including positions with Richmount Petroleum, and ARC Resources. Mr. Kaluski started his career at Beau Canada Exploration working their heavy oil properties in the Lloydminster area. He has a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and is a member of ASET and APEGA.
Mr. Dozzi is Vice President, Engineering of Gear Energy Ltd. He previously held the position of Vice President, Business Development at Rock Energy Inc. Bryan has over 30 years of industry experience, including positions of increasing responsibility with Norcen Energy, Anadarko Canada, Encana Corp. and Enerplus Resources Fund. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from the University of Calgary. Mr. Dozzi is currently registered as a professional engineer in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Mr. Steve Power is a seasoned professional with over 24 years of experience in the energy industry, currently serving as the Vice President of Exploration at Gear Energy Ltd. Prior to joining Gear Energy he worked for Vermilion Energy. Mr. Power focused on conventional and unconventional oil plays and spearheaded projects from their inception stages through to production, culminating in peak production levels exceeding 20,000 (boe/d). Before joining Vermilion Energy, Mr. Power held key positions at various other companies, including Profound Energy, Highpine Energy, and Kick Energy. Mr. Power's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, which he obtained from the Memorial University of Newfoundland.
