Notice of acquisition
On February 5, 2025, Cenovus Energy Inc. (“Cenovus”) acquired Gear Energy Ltd. (“Gear”). Gear is now a wholly-owned affiliate of Cenovus.
On the same date, following the acquisition, Gear transferred legal title of its assets to Cenovus.
Immediately prior to the acquisition, certain Gear assets outside the Lloydminster area were conveyed to Gear’s subsidiary, Lotus Creek Exploration Inc. (“Lotus Creek”). Cenovus’s acquisition of Gear did not include Lotus Creek, and Lotus Creek now operates as an independent company unrelated to Cenovus.
